Series three of Israel’s hit Netflix drama Shtisel will be available on 25 March.

Consisting of nine episodes, the show will be streamed online following its launch on Israeli TV in December 2020.

The third season, produced by Yes Studios, started and finished production during Israel’s first Covid-19 lockdown.

It takes place four years after the events of season two, following father and son, Shulem and Akiva Shtisel, played by Dov Glickman and Michael Aloni, as well as Ruchami, played by Shira Haas, the award-winning star of Netflix drama Unorthodox.

Speaking ahead of the global Netflix release, the show’s producer, Dikla Barkai said: : “This season was made possible thanks to the love and support we received from fans and viewers throughout the world. We are thrilled to be able to bring the Shtisel family to the warm embrace of global audiences in time for Passover”.
