Shuls set for table tennis tournament

Mill Hill’s 2013 winning team

More than 120 table tennis players are set to take part in this year’s National Shul table tennis league championships.

The event, which takes place in Edgware next Sunday, is supported by Maccabi GB and will see more than half of this year’s teams being first time entrees.

Previous open event winners Mill Hill and Norrice Lea will be attendance, debutants will include teams from Wembley, Borehamwood’s Beis Israel and Neveh Shalom in Harrow, while Radlett will feature MGB Scotland’s Maccabiah star Jeremy Banks.

On show will also be several players who are set to compete for GB at this summer’s European Maccabi Games in Berlin, including Dov Katz, Michael Gerrard, Adam Black and Jonathan Stelzer.

Run along the competitive event will be the MGB Community Table Tennis Day, which is open to players of any age, gender or ability.
