L’Equipe welcomed back their two big strikers, Mark and Andy Smith, who caused all the problems last time they played Jewdinese.

Jewdinese started strong and dominated possession leaving L’Equipe only with opportunities on the counter-attack which saw the two Smiths cause all manners of problems. The home side defended brilliantly and finally got a breakthrough on the half-hour mark, when Andy Smith took on three men, before finishing neatly into the bottom right hand corner.

With the lead intact, L’Equipe continued playing in the same way, while Jewdinese kept the pressure on, hitting the post a couple of times and drawing saves out of stand-in goalkeeper James Bell.

The second half proved to be more of the same, though L’Equipe’s defence, lead by David Prager, held strong. Jewdinese were limited in opportunities and were most threatening from corners.

The home side saw out the game, defending brilliantly, with the back five communicating well, to claim what could prove to be a massive three points.
