Snipper’s hoping to be bowled over in Berlin

The six ten pin bowlers who will be competing for Team Maccabi GB at this summer’s European Maccabi Games in Berlin have been announced.

Manager Russell Snipper has selected a team which he feels will bring success to GB in Germany and, in doing so, repeat the exploits of the 2011 squad, who returned home with an impressive five-medal-haul – including gold in the trios and team events.

He said: “I’m excited by the team we’re taking out to Berlin. We have two young bowlers with bags of potential [Craig Grant and Russell Shear] representing Great Britain for the first time as bowlers, along with Adam Michaels and Richard Da Costa whose pedigree is second to none. Then there’s the experience of Brad Mervish and myself. I have high expectations going in to the EMG, and expect to come back with a few medals. Representing Team Maccabi GB is a huge honour for all of us – especially for a European Maccabi Games as historic as this one in Germany – and I’m sure we’ll do the whole of UK’s Jewish Community proud.”
