Stone helps Shaftsbury to top-ten Championships finish
JFS pupil returns to competitive action after lay-off.
Long-distance runner David Stone’s return to competitive action saw him help his side to a top-ten finish at the Southern Road Relay Championships.
Enduring a difficult summer due to his suffering from bad asthma, his first event back was two weeks ago at in a 3K road relay race in Hayes – which he finished in a time of 9.40 – 14 seconds quicker than last year.
The 14-year-old JFS pupil then ran the third of four legs at the Championships in a time of 9:07, which helped Shaftsbury Barnet Harriers to a seventh place finish out of 32 sides.
