Sunday Masters review – week 11

Division One leaders North London Raiders dropped their first points of the season, while EDRS regained top spot in Division Two, writes Jeremy Silverstone

Leaders North London Raiders dropped their first points of the season as they were held to a 1-1 draw by HMH, with goals from Tony Plaskow and Neil Kochane respectively.

Meanwhile, Waldaf Town returned to winning ways with an emphatic 8-3 win over Faithfold. Marc Cutler scored a hat-trick, Alex Bourne and Mike Lax scored two each, while Hezi Yechiel was also on target with a 30-yard effort. Boris Simons scored twice for Faithfold, with Ali Marks claiming their third.

Zigzag Marshside also got back into win mode as they avenged their opening day defeat at the hands of Temple Fortune by beating them 6-2. Sam Nourazi opened the scoring, and debutant Barry Silkman added a second from a tight angle just before the break. Two further goals from Faramarz Moghim, one from Jason Rich and a second from Silkman completed the Marshside scoring, Yali Mamouri and Andy Montlake replied for Fortune.

Goals from Perry Somers and Andrew Cohen earned St John’s Wood Tigers a narrow 2-1 win over Hendon Harriers, for whom Simon Black netted.

And the revolving door at the top of the table continues to turn as EDRS resumed their place in top spot, as they beat Glenthorne 3-1, thanks to two goals from Martin Seifert, along with Mark Kingston’s strike, Mike Nathan scored Glenthorne’s consolation.
