Title contenders Glenthorne United A made up some ground on leaders London Maccabi Lions with a 4-2 win over St John’s Wood Tigers. David Simmons, David Michaels, Greg Morris and Gary Adams all netted for Glenthorne, with Paul Herszaft and Grant Morgan replying for Tigers.
Glenthorne A, who had only conceded one goal in their previously ten league games, are now five points behind Lions, but still have four games in hand.
HENRY SWERNER MACCABI MASTERS LEAGUE CUP:
In the first semi-final, a second half brace from Marc Morris, plus Danny Schindler strike gave London Maccabi Lions a 3-1 victory over Brady A, seeing them into the Final once again. There they will play the winners of the North London Raiders vs Glenthorne United A tie. Daniel Sugarman scored Brady’s consolation.
