The Raiders extended their lead at the top of Division One  of the Maccabi Masters League, while there was a surprise result in Division Two, writes Jeremy Silverstone

DIVISION ONE:

TABLE
FIXTURES & RESULTS

North London Raiders made it three wins out of three as they disposed of Chigwell. Wayne Davidson scored twice, with strikes from Andrew Wolfin, Tony Plaskow and Dan Hodes seeing them to a 5-0 victory which extended their lead at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, HMH and Faithfold shared six goals in a 3-3 draw. Mark Ratzger scored twice for HMH, with James Temple hitting their third. Simon Shelley, Simon Beresford and an own goal earned the Greens a point.

DIVISION TWO:

TABLE
FIXTURES & RESULTS

Goals from David Price and Marc Morris, along with an own goal saw Lions move to second place as they claimed a 3-1 win over Hendon Harriers, who replied with a Geoff Isaacs penalty.

But in the surprise result of the season so far, Zigzag Marshside beat Glenthorne United in spectacular style to avenge several heavy defeats in previous seasons and move into third place.

The game started well for Glenthorne and they could have gone ahead when a long-range shot was pushed onto the bar early in the first half. However, they never found their rhythm and found themselves two down at the break to a long-range wonder goal from Sam Nourazi and another goal from Danny Cuby.

They fell further behind early in the second half when Brian Deal muscled his way forward from the halfway line to shrug off several challenges and stab ball under the Glenthorne goalkeeper. Jason Rich then got himself onto the scoresheet on his Marshside debut goal and the rout was completed when Brian Deal scored his second in injury time to make the final score 5-0.
