Sunday Masters review – week 9

There was a clash of the top-two in Division One, while Temple Fortune claimed their first points of the season in dramatic style in Division Two, writes Jeremy Silverstone

DIVISION ONE:
RESULTS & FIXTURES

In a ding-dong battle at the top of the table, league leaders Chigwell and second-place North London Raiders battled out a thrilling 4-4 draw. With Raiders 3-1 up going into the final 25 minutes, Chigwell rallied to edge ahead 4-3 before being pegged back in the final minutes. Adam Stolerman’s hat-trick and Adam Barton accounted for Chigwell, though Adam Harvey’s double, along with strikes from Elan Ovits and David Lederman earned Raiders a point.

HMH enjoyed a comfortable 5-0 win over Faithfold, thanks to Dan Swimer’s hat-trick and strikes from Simon Ritterband and James Pincus.

A hat-trick from Scott Warren, plus an own goal helped Brady A to a 4-1 win over Scrabble, who scored through a superb individual strike from Serge Cowan.

DIVISION TWO:
RESULTS & FIXTURES

A last-minute goal from Phil Mayer gave Temple Fortune their first points of the season as they saw off Brady B.

EDRS kept up their challenge as two goals each from Steve Krieger and Martin Seifert gave them a 4-1 win over Hendon Harriers, for whom Richard Reuben netted.

Lions continue their seemingly inexorable march towards another title goals from Jason Harris, Michael Abraham and David Kyte gave them a seventh successive victory with a 3-1 win over St John’s Wood Tigers, with Perry Somers notching a consolation for Tigers.
