Hendon closed in on securing a historic second-treble after they comfortably picked up the points against the Lions.
Ben Kon, Avidan Last and Yoav Lebens were all on target for the already cup double winners, with manager David Garbacz telling jewishnews.co.uk: “This was a very entertaining match with both teams playing good open attacking football.
“Lions came at us hard on the first 20 minutes and we could easily have conceded, but for two great saves from Russell Corin. We clicked into gear from about the middle of the first half and were good value for the lead given to us once again by the marauding Ben Kon. Avidan last doubled our lead with a typical finish and from then on it was a question of keeping our nerve and scoring as many as possible.
“We were guilty of a succession of missed chances including incredibly two Ari Last penalty misses – I’m sure their keeper must have watched the recent cup finals as he picked them perfectly. Lions contributed well to a good free flowing match, looking pretty sharp on the break, and whilst we could and should have probably scored a few more the result was the most important thing and was never really in doubt. Yehuda and Avi Korman were both magnificent at the back and Greg Corin ran rings around them for most of the game.
“We are counting no chickens yet – we expect a really tough match next week against a very dangerous Oakwood team who we know will be doing everything to beat us and lions showed today that they can be dangerous.
“The closer we now get the more our achievements are beginning to sink in and we simply have to keep going for two more games.”

The O’s moved up into fourth spot thanks to these two emphatic wins over a Redbridge side, who now just sit two points ahead of them in the League.
Dave Woolman helped himself to a hat-trick in their first win, with Josh Rose and Alex Koslover also on target.
Guy Helman, Jonny Quinn, Ben Buck and Harvey Kaye all found the back of the net in their second win.
