Superman actor Dean Cain flew into Israel this week, where he prayed at the Western Wall, met Benjamin Netanyahu and visited the Knesset.

The superhero actor sported a Superman kippa at the Kotel, a day after he embraced Israel’s prime minister in his office on Tuesday.

Netanyahu wrote on Facebook: “Superman visited my office this evening. Bad timing though. We solved everything right before he arrived”.

Cain was invited to speak at the Knesset by Labour MK Hilik Bar.

Speaking to the Jerusalem Post, the actor said “I have dreamed about coming to Israel for as long as I can remember”.

“I always wanted to be here… I love history.

The actor was brought to the Jewish state by From the Depths, a Holocaust heritage group that works in Poland – founded by British-born Jonny Daniels.

Speaking to Jewish News, Dean said: “Israel is all I’ve imagined and more! Such a beautiful country, wonderful people and vibrant democracy. I’ve not yet had a chance to see all the country and deeply look forward to the rest of my time here and I’m sure I’ll be back again soon. For me the most moving is being able to share this visit with my son Christopher, to walk the streets that Kings and Prophets walked, share this history with him as well as show him how much a country can build and succeed in just 70 years.”

Jonny told Jewish News:”Dean and I have been friends for 10 years, he is the Honorary Chairman of my foundation From The Depths and together we have walked through and visited the most difficult and painful for sights for the Jewish people, to be able to travel to Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the Jewish people and Israel with him shows the continuation of our people and the remarkable success of our young nation.”
