Swastika and anti-Semitic comments daubed at Hackney school

A swastika and anti-Semitic comments have been daubed at a school in Hackney.

The offensive symbol used by the Nazis was daubed outside Beis Chinuch Lebonos Girls School with the words ‘yid’ and ‘sh*t’.

An image was posted on Twitter by local volunteer neighbourhood-watch group Shomrim, along with an appeal for any assistance in catching.

Officers from Hackney borough said they are “investigating an offence of racially aggravated criminal damage. Police were called on Monday, 17 August at 08:59 to Woodberry Down, N4.”

“Anti-Semitic graffiti was found on a wall near a school. No arrests, enquires continue. Anyone with information is asked to contact Hackney police on 101.”

Michael Scher from Stamford Hill Shomrim said: “Targeting a Jewish School with anti-Semitic graffiti is very low, nobody should have to face hate crime of any kind, especially young children.”

Anti-Semitic graffiti appeared at the same location 4-6 weeks ago with the words ‘Yids Out’. I urge anyone with information to get in touch and call the Police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111″.

The school is an independent Orthodox school which teaches children from two to 16.
