Israeli swimmers have failed to win a medal at a world championships for the first time in ten years.

Yakov Toumarkin proved to be their best performer in Kazan, Russia, having reached two semi-finals, though ended the 200m individual medley in 11th place and 100m backstroke in 12th.

Gal Nevo represented their last hope of reaching a final, but finished the 400m individual medley heats in 14th place.
