Israeli swimmers warmed up for the start of the European Championships in Berlin, by taking part in the national championships at the Wingate Institute in Netanya.

Two-time European bronze medalist Guy Barnea won the 50m backstroke, while Gal Nevo, who competed at the 2012 London Olympics, won gold in the 200m individual medley.

Records were also broken in the pool as Or Sabatier set a new record in the 50-meter freestyle, finishing in a time of 22.54 seconds, while one of Israel’s young up-and-coming swimmers, 17-year-old Jessica Antiles, who recently moved to Israel from the US, claimed four gold medals in the 200 and 400m IM, 800m freestyle and 400m freestyle races.
