Tel Aviv to London: MDA UK raises more than £250k at campaign dinners

Magen David Adom UK hosted Table75 this week, a series of 3 campaign dinners, to mark Israel’s 75th birthday and raise much-needed funds for the country’s only national medical emergency and blood service.

Held at The Engine Rooms in north London, Table75 provided guests with the opportunity to experience the tastes of Tel Aviv thanks to renowned Israeli chef, Avishay Siag, and Israel’s first whisky distillery, the award-winning M&H (Milk & Honey).

MDA Israel’s Ilan Klein said: “Major challenges have been identified which Israel, and therefore MDA may be confronted with – that being a multi-front war.”

In order to be best equipped for such an instance, MDA is seeking funding for an additional 300 ambulances, the training of more volunteers, and the expansion of their integral AI (Artificial Intelligence) systems in the dispatch centres. The upgrade in this technology will enable them to dispatch up to 100 ambulances a minute.

Daniel Burger, chief executive of Magen David Adom UK said: “It’s a privilege to address so many of our generous donors of ambulances, bloodmobiles, equipment and funds. We couldn’t do what we do without your support.”

Burger also extended a special thanks to Pastor John Hemus and his team who refurbished an MDA station in Masade, Israel, and will be returning to refurbish another station in Jerusalem next month.

He closed by saying, “We are proud to be celebrating 75 years of Israel, 93 years of MDA, and next year MDA UK will be celebrating its 75th anniversary”.
