Tony Blair has addressed a capacity crowd at JW3.

Tickets for the event, which was kept under wraps until after the former prime minister had spoken, were made available to members of the community centre on Finchley Road.

The talk was the latest in the Alan Howard series at JW3 and comes hot on the heels of an appearance by another former Labour big hitter David Miliband in November.

Blair, seen as one of the the greatest friends of Anglo-Jewry and Israel ever to have inhabited Downing Street, spoke at the European Parliament’s Holocaust memorial Day commemoration, in association wit EJC, last month.

“There is no small act of prejudice that does not enlarge the space for prejudice and hatred to flourish,” he said. “So we must stand against it from the beginning.

He said he was “ashamed” at the spate of anti-Semitic incidents in north London in the proceeding days.
