Two of Israel’s most prominent doctors are due to address top British medics in London later this month as both countries seek to learn lessons from the other’s healthcare system.

Professor Ora Paltiel, a haematologist and epidemiologist at Hadassah-Hebrew University, and Professor A Mark Clarfield, a geriatrician at Ben-Gurion University, will be speaking at UCL on 28 February. Both are world experts in their field and currently on sabbatical in the UK.

Clarfield will discuss care of older persons within the Israeli healthcare system while Paltiel will compare and contrast elements of the healthcare systems in the UK and Israel, as private donors extend funding for bilateral medical research partnerships.

The event is being organised by the Jewish Medical Association and will be facilitated by Professor McKee, medical director at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
