The City law firm that helped prepare evidence of institutional antisemitism in the Labour Party has fired an employee for antisemitism.

Mishcon de Reya, which was founded by a rabbi, sacked a conflict analyst after several of his tweets against Israel and Jews were revealed by the legal online news site Roll on Friday.

The analyst, whose name has been withheld, had worked for the prestigious law firm for more than a year, having begun life there as a paralegal.

During Euro 2012, he took to Twitter to lambast “f****** Jew supporters,” while after Real Madrid’s loss to German side Borussia Dortmund in 2013, he tweeted: “The awkward moment when you score a Jew goal against the Germans, haha class.”

Last year he referred to the “Nazi Israel state” which he said had “absolutely no right to exist”. A month later he was writing about “Zionist cockroaches,” adding: “There’s no such thing as #Israel.”

More recently he again chose Twitter to accuse a critic of being “in the Zionists’ pockets,” while elsewhere he said “the Zionist-controlled MSM [mainstream media] is a powerful weapon”.

The analyst was fired earlier this month after the firm undertook an investigation.

Earlier this year Mishcon helped the Jewish Labour Movement complete and submit a dossier of evidence suggesting institutional antisemitism in the party under the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn, who has now been replaced by Sir Keir Starmer.
