Conservative MPs and Peers visit Save a Child's Heart as they, meet children receiving life-saving heart surgery in Israel

Tory politicians are meeting Israeli counterparts during the ninth delegation organised by Conservative Friends of Israel since last year’s election.

Five MPs, including several who have never previously visited the country, and three peers are in Israel to meet MKs and British Ambassador David Quarrey as well as seeing first hand the borders with Syria and Lebanon.

The group visited Save a Child’s Heart, an Israeli NGO that provides life-saving heart surgery for children from developing countries including the Palestinian Territories. For the first time, the itinerary will include a visit to the Jerusalem College of Technology, which works with Haredim in the high-tech sector.

CFI’s Executive Director, James Gurd, said:”By the end of this year, CFI will have taken as many as 100 Conservatives to Israel since May 2015 – an unprecedented number. The high demand for fact-finding visits to Israel highlights the strength of support for the Jewish state across the Conservative Party.”
