Travellers from Israel will still have to quarantine as UK relaxes restrictions
The Jewish state is among the absentees from a list of 60 of countries and territories exempt from the UK's quarantine travel policy as of next week
Travellers from Israel will still have to self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival to England, as the UK relaxes its restrictions.
The government published on Friday a list of 60 of countries and territories to be exempt from the UK’s quarantine travel policy as of 10 July.
They include France, Spain, Germany, Norway and New Zealand. But Israel is among the absentees, as are the United States, Portugal, Russia, Brazil and China.
Other countries may be added to the list of quarantine free countries in the coming days in the wake of further talks, the government says.
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said: “Today marks the next step in carefully reopening our great nation. Whether you are a holidaymaker ready to travel abroad or a business eager to open your doors again, this is good news for British people and great news for British businesses.
“The entire nation has worked tirelessly to get to this stage, therefore safety must remain our watch word and we will not hesitate to move quickly to protect ourselves if infection rates rise in countries we are reconnecting with.”
