Old Bailey

An Old Bailey trial date of 2 August has been set for the man accused of murdering S&P Sephardi Community welfare officer Elize Stevens in Hendon earlier this year.

The trial of Ian Levy, 54, has been given a time estimate of two weeks, although no plea has yet been entered.

Following reports of a disturbance, police were called to the Hendon home on Great North Way of mother-of-three Stevens, 50, on the morning of Saturday 2 March. She had been fatally stabbed.

Levy, who also lives on Great North Way, was charged with her murder less than 48 hours later. Police said at the time that they were not looking for anyone else in connection to the attack.
