Tributes to ‘inspirational and dedicated’ Gitty Pinter led by Lord Levy
More than 700 students, alumni and teachers joined MPs David Lammy and Diane Abbott and Lord Levy at a memorial ceremony for Yesodey Hatorah Senior Girls’ School’s late headteacher, Gitty Pinter.
Lord Levy, who unveiled a memorial plaque and commemorative tree, paid tribute to Mrs Pinter as an “inspirational and dedicated leader”.
Dayan Berger spoke about Mrs Pinter’s dedication to the school, telling the crowd she would affectionately refer to all the students as “my girls”.
He added: “Mrs Pinter realised one size doesn’t fit all. It is not about students achieving the best grades. She understood that providing a student works hard and honestly, they can be proud.”
