Two women in their 80s, one of whom is a Holocaust survivor, were stabbed by assailants as they walked along a promenade in Jerusalem on Tuesday.

The victims, aged 82 and 86, were approached from behind by two masked men, and were taken to hospital in moderate condition.

The attack occurred at the Peace Forest, near the Armon Hanatziv promenade in southern Jerusalem. The attackers fled toward the adjacent East Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabel Mukaber.

Magen David Adom medic Shlomi Tedgi said he found the women “in the field near the promenade lying in the dirt, conscious, with stab wounds”.
