Two Palestinians have been killed – and a third left injured – after a homemade bomb exploded in a Gaza building on Sunday.

Health officials confirmed the victims as a father and son, whom Israeli media identified as being Ahmad Mansour Hassan, a commander of an Al-Aqsa Marty’r Brigade missile unit. He was purportedly preparing a rocket when it exploded, which also killed his son and injured a third person.

The incident occurred hours after a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian militants was announced, following fighting between Israel and Gaza militants.

Police spokesman Ayman al-Batnijiy said: “An explosion took place this morning in a house west of Gaza City, the police launched an investigation into the cause of the explosion.”
