UJIA cancels fundraising dinner moments after The Queen’s death was announced

Banqueting House in central London had already been set up to host 100 guests on Thursday night

UJIA cancelled a formal fundraising event with a few hours’ notice on Thursday evening, after it was announced that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth had died aged 96.

The charity, which raises money for programmes in Israel and the UK, had been planning the event for months in the lead up.

The tables were set with linens and flowers as around 100 guests were ready to attend the event at Historic Royal Palaces’ Banqueting House in Whitehall, central London.  It was set to be catered by kosher caterer Tony Page.

However, in tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth, the event was cancelled. Organisers have yet to confirm whether the event will be postponed to a later date.
