Uma Thurman accuses Harvey Weinstein of assault

Kill Bill star alleges the former Miramax founder assaulted her in a London hotel room around the release of Pulp Fiction in 1994.

Harvey Weinstein

Actress Uma Thurman has become the latest woman to accuse the 65-year-old of sexual misconduct.

Quoted in a New York Times article on Saturday, she decided to come out, having said in October that she would wait as she didn’t want to say anything in anger.

The 47-year-old described the incident to the newspaper, which allegedly happened at the Savoy Hotel, saying: “He tried to shove himself on me. He tried to expose himself. He did all kinds of unpleasant things. But he didn’t actually put his back into it and force me.”

A spokeswoman for Weinstein said he had apologised to Thurman for making an “awkward pass” at her, but that any claims about about being physically assaulted were untrue.

The full statement read: “Mr. Weinstein acknowledges making an awkward pass 25 years ago at Ms. Thurman in England after misreading her signals, after a flirtatious exchange in Paris, for which he immediately apologised and deeply regrets. However, her claims about being physically assaulted are untrue.”
