‘Unfortunate’ malfunction at Indiana hospital causes sign to spell ‘Nazi’

An hospital in Indianapolis named after two Jewish philanthropists suffered an “unfortunate” malfunction last week that caused its building sign to temporarily spell “Nazi Hospital.”
Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital and Eskenazi Health was named after the married couple, who donated $40b (£30,9) for the new facility in 2011.
According to a web-page on the hospital’s website, it is believed to rank among the largest donations ever received by a public hospital in the country.
The malfunction was first reported by the online user Rachel Bell on Friday, who described the incident on Twitter as “majorly unfortunate”.
A spokesman for the hospital confirmed the building suffered a circuit issue during a couple of hours last Wednesday. He described the incident as “very unfortunate” but said it was “addressed as quickly as we could.”
