A veteran fundraiser and member of Hampstead Garden Suburb synagogue is joining British Friends of United Hatzalah to be its new chief executive.

Assaf Admoni moves to BFUH after heading British Friends of Migdal Ohr, following spells at Childline, Leonard Cheshire, Norwood and the National Autistic Society.

United Hatzalah is a first responder charity in Israel, with trained volunteers reacting to medical emergencies on motorcycle ambulances, often arriving first on the scene to perform life-saving resuscitation.

Admoni said he was “deeply honoured and extremely excited” about the new role, adding: “An important part of my Jewish identity is the responsibility to others and United Hatzalah is a classic example of how to do that.”

BFUH executive director Royi Gutkin said: “I look forward to working with Assaf and utilising his experience and insights as we grow our UK team and continue to establish ourselves aboard.”
