VIDEO: Football or foot fall?

Israeli Premier League player hits the ground in bizarre fashion

The Bnei Sakhnin player goes to ground, while Ofir Kriaf waits to take a throw in

An action-packed Israeli League match on Monday night featured one of the most outrageous moments seen on a football pitch.

The fixture has been marred by violent scenes in the past, with both supporters and players clashing, but the only memorable scene arrived in the 41st minute when Beitar Jerusalem’s Ofir Kriaf was lining up to take a throw. However, without even releasing the ball, he saw his opponent fall to the ground, holding his leg and then head.

Kriaf looked on in bewilderment, while another Sakhnin player seemed to indicate that he had been nudged off the ball.

The game finished 3-2 in Beitar’s favour, its first win of the season which saw them leapfrog their opponents in the table, up into tenth place.
