VIDEO: Angry Jeremy Corbyn grilled on ‘friendship’ with Hamas and Hezbollah

Labour leadership candidate Jeremy Corbyn was probed on Channel 4 last night, as to why he described the Islamist Terrorist organisations Hamas and Hezbollah as “friends”.

The interviewer asked why he referred to Hamas and Hezbollah as his ‘friends.’

The left-wing politician answered: “I spoke at a meeting in which I said I wanted all people in the Middle East issue to come together, and be able to have a discussion”

After being interrupted on numerous occasions, Corbyn repeatedly says “can I finish? Will you allow me to finish? Do you mind?”, becoming clearly agitated.

He is accused of evading the question of why he referred to Hamas as friends, which was asked four times in total during the interview.

He responded: “I was speaking in a meeting in parliament on the Middle East crisis. There were people there from Hezbollah. I said I welcomed our friends from Hezbollah to have a discussion. I wanted Hamas to be part of that debate.”

He continues: “I have met with Hamas in Lebanon. And,  have met Hezbollah in this country.”

“Even the head of Mossad says there has to be talks involving Hamas.. I’ve also had talks with people on the right of Israeli politics.”

Probed further about the use of the term ‘friends’ – he says: “I used it in a collective way”.

“Does it mean I agree with Hamas and what it does? No. Does it mean I agree with Hezbollah and what it does? No.”

“What it means is, to bring about a peace process, you have to talk to people with whom you may profoundly disagree”

“There is not going to be any peace process unless there is talks.”

He was then asked about his views on Syria and ISIS.
