VIDEO: Israeli and Palestinian youth chorus ‘sing out for hope’ on UK tour!

The YMCA Jerusalem Youth Chorus, will be embarking on their debut UK Tour this Christmas season to sing out for hope, mutual understanding, and a better future for all in the Holy Land

The choral and dialogue program for Palestinian and Israeli high school students will also seek to promote interfaith efforts in the UK.

Founded in 2012, the YMCA Jerusalem Youth Chorus creates a space for young people from all parts of Jerusalem to engage with each other through song and dialogue.

With the co-creation of music, the sharing of stories; the chorus empowers youth to become leaders in their communities.

Their latest music video, a cover of Phillip Phillips’ “Home,” has amassed over 150,000 views on YouTube:

The Chorus has performed with such renowned artists as David Broza, Mira Awad and the Yale Whiffenpoofs, and are featured on Broza’s new album, “East Jerusalem / West Jerusalem.”

Last August, they brought their message of mutual respect and love to Japan, performing for packed concert halls in Tokyo.

At 5pm on Sunday, December 7th, the YMCA Jerusalem Youth Chorus will be appearing in concert at the Aldwych Theatre in London. In addition, they’ll be visiting London faith communities to encourage interfaith dialogue and promote mutual understanding and respect in the UK – including St James’s Piccadilly & Palmers Green Mosque.

Alongside the New London Children’s Choir, singer-songwriter Miel de Botton, and other special guests, the chorus will present its unique repertoire.

They blend influences of East and West, songs in English, Arabic, and Hebrew, and personal stories of inspiration and transformation from their singers.

Tickets are available at Aldwych Theatre Box Office!
