VIDEO: Police search for West Ham fan who allegedly shouted “f*** the Jews’

Clip shows supporter making obscene gestures to Jewish journalist Abbi Summers after reportedly making antisemitic remarks while travelling to a game against Tottenham Hotspur

Shocking video of a Jewish journalist’s confrontation with a West Ham fan who allegedly shouted “f*** the Jews” has been viewed almost 400,000 times on social media.

Police are hunting the suspect after journalist Abbi Summers captured the aftermath of the incident on video, before sharing it on social media.

During the video, which has now had more than 360,000 views on Twitter and almost 1.5K retweets, she films a man who is making obscene gestures on board a train, travelling to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.  She said to the individual in the clip: “Come and say it to my face. Come and say it to my face, what you just said. Are you too p***y to come and call me, and say ‘f*** the Jews’ again”.

Accompanying the video, she tagged the police in, and said she “would like to report an incident on the 18:45 train from Liverpool street to white hart lane. This man continuously shouting anti Semitic comments and behaviour and clearly not sorry when called up on…”.

The British Transport Police replied to her asking for more details, and it is understood from West Ham United, BTP is aware of the incident, and is trying to identify the individual.

The rivalry between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, close London rivals, has in the past led to antisemitic incidents, because of Spurs’ historic links to the Jewish community.

In November a number of West Ham supporters were arrested after a video on social media showed them chanting antisemitic songs at an Orthodox Jewish man on a plane.
