Volunteers honoured at JVN awards
Inspirational organisations and individuals who dedicate their time to charity were honoured at the Wohl JVN volunteering awards on Tuesday night
Shortlisted nominees, selected from a pool of 60, were in the audience at artsdepot in North Finchley as the winners were announced across 10 categories including overseas volunteer, innovation, volunteer of the year and team of the year, plus the prestigious lifetime achievement in volunteering award, which was handed to Alan Lazarus.
Marsha Gladstone, who won volunteer of the year, said in her acceptance speech: “I wonder how many people are really aware of the huge role volunteers play in making that great success of these organisations possible.”
JVN chairman David Lazarus said: “These awards collectively show that volunteers are truly valued.”
The night was compèred by Lord Daniel Finkelstein and music was provided by acapella group The Four Sons.
The awards were media sponsored by Jewish News.
