A global audience of 6,000 tuned in for an emotional reunion of the actors who played the leading roles in the iconic 1971 movie.

For many of them, it was the first time they had seen each other for 50 years, but unfortunately Chaim Topol, who played Tevye in the original 1971 film, was unable to attend due to a head injury. He was represented by his daughter, Adit Topol Margalith.

Adit, who played Chava when her father was in the musical at the London Palladium, was joined on the platform on Sunday by Rosalind Harris (Tzeitel) Michele Marsh (Hodel), Neva Small (Chava) and Candy Bonstein (Bielke).

The event, conceived and chaired by the Jewish News’ Brigit Grant, was partnered by The Forward.
