Week four Olim Preview

There are four exciting matches scheduled for motzei Shabbat in the latest round of action in the sportsdirect.com sponsored Olim League

INTER TEL AVIV (7th) vs JAFFA (2nd)
Inter go into this game on the back of a hard fought win over Modi’in in their last game, to register their first win in Olim football.

They will have to tighten things up at the back if they are to stop a free scoring rejuvenated Jaffa, who currently sit 2nd in the table, with the narrow defeat against table toppers Ra’anana, the only black spot on a great start to the season.

The form book points to an away victory, with Jaffa looking to maximise any points dropped in the Match of the Day between Ra’anana and England FC, with two of their stars, Nir Madmon and Sam Silverberg returning from suspension.

Leading Scorers:

Inter: Five players on one goal.
Jaffa: Stephen Caffrey and Rani Madmon (both three goals)

Dangermen:
Emanuel Sholz (Inter); Stephen Caffrey (Jaffa)

Prediction:
Inter Tel Aviv 1 v Jaffa 4

MODI’IN (8th) vs ASHDOD (6th)
Both teams go into this game looking to stop the rot. With rumours of a 2nd division for next season, both will look for vital points in what could be deemed as an early season relegation 6 pointer.

Modi’in’s stikers will be looking to find their shooting boots, against an Ashdod side whose main problems appear to be at the opposite end of the pitch. Goals usually flow between these two sides, with the corresponding fixture ending 4-4 last year, in which key player Adi Meiyuri scored 2.

Modi’in manager, Jamie Lazarus will be hoping that Ashdod’s record scorer Shlomi Toubol who has yet to feature this season, sits this one out too.

Goals will flow, and it may take a moment of brilliance to separate both sides.

Leading Scorers:

Ashdod: Shmouel Darmon 4, Ofir Firouz 3
Modi’in: 3 players on 1 goal.

Dangermen:
Shmouel Darmon (Ashdod);  Adi Meiyuri (Modi’in)

Prediction:
Modi’in 3 v Ashdod 3

RA’ANANA (1st) vs ENGLAND FC (3rd)
Match of the day sees the only two sides with 100% records this season lock horns.

Both sides seem to be scoring goals for fun, whilst conceding very few. Key battels will be between Omer Peleg (England FC) and Ra’anana’s goal machine Aviad Ben Meir, and Mike Isaacson (Ra’anana) and England’s top marksman, Gaby Balulu.

Whilst the top two goal scorers so far this season, will be looking to plunder more in the golden boot race, it was the defence that came out on top, with a 0-0 scoreline in the corresponding fixture last year.

This will prove to be another tight affair, with the result being too close to call.

Leading Scorers:
Ra’anana: Aviad Ben Meir 9, 3 players on 2.
England FC: Gaby Balulu 5, Motti Colman 2.

Dangermen:
Aviad Ben Meir (Ra’anana); Gaby Balulu (England FC)

Prediction:
Ra’anana 2 v England FC 2

RAINBALL TEL AVIV (9th) vs JERUSALEM (4th)
This is the first game between league new boys Rainball Tel Aviv and one of the traditional big 2 of Olim Football, Jerusalem.

Rainball, after a decent pre-season, have found the move to the Olim League a little tough, leaking goals and searching for their first points of the season. Last week they let in 6 against England FC, but the plus side is that they managed to score 2 for the first time, against one of the meanest defences in the league.

Jerusalem kick started their campaign with the result of the last round, demolishing their neighbours in the Jerusalem derby. However, with a few injuries and expectant wives, Jerusalem’s squad will be stretched this week, something which may prove to be a bit of a leveler.

Leading Scorers:
Rainball Tel Aviv: 4 players on 1.
Jerusalem: Zack Lewis 4, Moishe Lewis 3.

Dangermen:
Naor Sibony (Rainball TA); Zack Lewis (Jerusalem)

Prediction:
Rainball Tel Aviv 1 v Jerusalem 3
