Wimbledon 2017: Oliel knocked out of doubles

Israel beaten in quarter-finals of boys' competition

Olliel (l) and Fenty were beaten in the quarter-finals on Friday afternoon

Israeli teenager Yshai Oliel was knocked out of the boys’ doubles competition on Friday afternoon.

Pairing up with Andrew Fenty, the Israeli-American duo were taking on Australian Blake Ellis and Frenchman Matteo Martineau, but lost the first set in 24 minutes, one of Oliel’s broken service games proving the difference in a 6-3 score.

They got off to the worst possible start in the second set, broken in their first service game, and were then broken again in their third service game to fall 4-1 behind. An exchange of serve meant Martineau had the chance to serve out for the match – which he did to seal a match which lasted less than 50 minutes.
