Diego Schwartzman won his first ever match at Wimbledon after beating Mirza Basic on Tuesday afternoon.

The 25-year-old Argentine was looking to reach the first round at the Championships for the first time at the fourth attempt and was handed a favourable draw against his Bosnian opponent.

Breaking Basic in his first game seemed to be a good omen for breaking his Wimbledon duck, and although he was broken in his second service game, two further breaks of the Bosnian saw him take the first set 6-3.

The second set also saw an early exchange of breaks, before the Argentine took control, two further breaks once more, seeing him take the second set 6-2.

The third set was an even more comprehensive affair, with the Argentine seeing it out 6-1, he will next face Czech Jiri Vesely on Thursday for a place in the third round.
