World Jewish Relief launch Nepal earthquake emergency appeal
World Jewish Relief have launched their relief appeal for the Nepal Earthquake which has claimed over 2000 lives at least.
The 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal on 25 April, sending tremors through the Kathmandu Valley and the nearby city of Pokhara. Aftershocks have also claimed hundreds of lives.
Following appeals by the Government of Nepal for humanitarian assistance from the International community, rescue efforts in Nepal are intensifying as volunteers and experts rush to the country.
World Jewish Relief reacted by launching an emergency appeal, and donations can be made HERE.
With funds raised, they will provide ’emergency assistance which is likely to include food, fresh water, shelter and medical supplies.’

Paul Anticoni, World Jewish Relief’s chief executive said: “This is a catastrophic natural disaster. Disaster is widespread and we must respond immediately. As Jews we feel a deep responsibility to help those beyond our community at this time of huge crisis. World Jewish Relief is calling on the British Jewish community to dig deep as usual to do all we can to help.”
