A megachurch in Houston has opened its doors to a Texas Jewish congregation for the high holy days after Hurricane Harvey flooded the shul. Lakewood Church, which has 16,800 worshippers, is home of televangelist Joel Osteen. It will host Congregation Beth Yeshurun, which has 2,000 member families.

Simcha Rotem, 92, who lives in Israel, successfully sued PWN, which published his letters without Rotem’s knowledge or consent in a book about Irena Gelblum.

More than 500 people attended a signing ceremony on Sunday after Israeli non-profit Shalva agreed to extend its operations to Russia. The Jerusalem-based charity helps children with disabilities.
