X Factor fans divided as Honey G survives again

The 35-year-old Jewish rapper was booed by the audience as she survived and popular rival Relley C was sent home

Honey G made it through Diva week with her mash-up of Ice Ice Baby and Under Pressure

Honey G has made it through to the fourth round of the X Factor – but it was amid boos rather than applause from the studio audience.

The Jewish rap artist sensationally survived Diva week after performing an energetic mash-up of Ice Ice Baby and Under Pressure, but her place in next week’s show came at the cost of popular rival Relley C, who was eliminated in Sunday night’s show.

As the 35-year-old performer threw her arms up in celebration, audible jeers were heard from the studio audience, while fans at home took to Twitter to express their dismay.

@LewysHynes wrote: “What?! @Relley_C was amazing!!! How is Honey G still there… Actually how did she get to lives in the first place!”

Meanwhile former X Factor contestant wrote: “Sorry that’s horrible, Honey G has done well to get that far but her talent isn’t rapping. Knitting maybe, rapping no! @Relley_C is a star.”

But there’s also still plenty of support for the recruitment consultant from Harrow, including from her new celebrity pals.

Crickter Freddie Flintoff wrote: “Yesssssssss @RobbieSavage8, @The_Honey_G is through”.

Meanwhile rapper 50 Cent was quick to defend the rapper – real name Anna Gilford, against claims by some viewers that her act is racist.

Speaking to the Daily Star, he said: “For anybody who thinks a white person performing music of black origin is racist, you know they don’t know what racism really is.

“Come and speak to real victims of racism who have seen their kids shot up. These people complaining ain’t got a clue.

“A middle-aged white woman rapping along to Dre and Tupac ain’t even close to being racist.”

Honey G is no doubt now back in rehearsals for next week’s theme, Fright Night, which happily coincides with Halloween.
