Yavneh College has been ranked the second best performing comprehensive school in the country in the Sunday Times‘ Parent Power guide.

The annual ranking of the country’s top 2,000 primary and secondary state and independent schools according to recent exam results, released online, was unveiled in print at the weekend.

Executive headteacher Spencer Lewis said: “We are absolutely thrilled that our pupils have once again performed so incredibly well in comparison to all their peers across the entire country.

“To be placed as second highest performing school in the UK and by definition, the best performing Jewish school makes us all incredibly proud. This is a great credit to our hard working pupils and their dedicated teachers.”

Also featured in the ranking was JCoSS, which was named the top state secondary school in Greater London.

In a letter to parents on Friday, the school’s headteacher Patrick Moriarty said the accolade “recognises our outstanding results at GCSE and A level, and our rapid rise up the rankings in recent years.”
