‘You are NOT alone’: Yellow piano music installation highlights missing hostages
Musicians invited to play at London's JW3 in moving homage to 23-year old Alon Ohel, a gifted pianist kidnapped by Hamas on October 7th
The JW3 community centre in north London is inviting musicians to play a special Yellow Piano in solidarity with the hostages in Gaza.
Starting from Sunday 14 April, the installation, originally set up in Tel Aviv, comes to JW3 in honour of Alon Ohel, an innocent civilian and gifted 23-year-old pianist from the Levon settlement in the Galilee, abducted by Hamas terrorists from the Nova festival on October 7th.
Alon and his friends attempted to flee the gunmen but had to turn back, hiding in a field shelter. He was witnessed being taken hostage by the terrorists.
His whereabouts are currently unknown, causing profound distress to his family.
To highlight Alon’s predicament and the ordeal of the other 132 hostages, the piano, open for public interaction at JW3’s reception hall for a week, invites people to play and connect, regardless of religion, nationality, race, age or gender.
Owing to the impactful presence of the Yellow Piano in Tel Aviv’s Hostages Plaza, similar installations have been introduced in New York City, Paris, and Amsterdam.
