Young Charedi man dies on flight from London to New York

Man named as 25-year old Shimoin Brauer from Stamford Hill suffered an asthma attack 45 minutes before landing

A young man from Stamford Hill has died following an asthma attack on board a flight from London to New York this morning.

Jewish News understands that 25-year old Shimoin Brauer, on route to volunteer at a summer camp in the US, suffered an attack around 45 minutes before the plane was due to land.

A member of the Orthodox Stamford Hill community said that the young man took out his inhaler in a panic, and it dropped from his hand. It is believed that he then fell unconscious and the crew attempted to give him oxygen, unaware that his airways were closed due to the asthma.

The crew then attempted emergency CPR but tragically were unable to save his life.

Jewish News understands an investigation by a coroner is pending.
