Palestinians often clash with Israeli forces in the West Bank

A 12-year old Palestinian boy has been killed by Israeli forces near East Jerusalem, after he was shot in the chest by what medics say was a rubber-coated bullet.

Muhey al-Tabakhi died on Tuesday when the projectile caused heart failure, after Israeli forces reacted to protesters threw a Molotov cocktail at them. Israeli officials say the soldiers only fired stun grenades and tear gas.

Also on Tuesday, a Palestinian man was shot and killed by Israeli forces near Hebron after he lunged at soldiers with a screwdriver. Mustafa Baradeah, 51, lived in a refugee camp. His brother had been shot and killed in April after attacking a soldier with an axe. Both brothers left soldiers lightly wounded.

The death-toll from violence that began in late September, following clashes near Al-Aqsa Mosque, stands at 33 Israelis and 204 Palestinians, with al-Tabakhi believed to be the youngest. Israeli leaders say Palestinian incitement is the cause of violence.
