6 Palestinians killed by IDF live fire in West Bank, Gaza

The Israeli army operated in several locations across the West Bank, killing five Palestinians and arresting another 12.

Six Palestinians were killed by the Israeli army in three different areas of the West Bank and Gaza on Tuesday. 

The first Palestinian was killed by Israeli fire on the Gaza border, after IDF said that “hundreds or rioters” gathered at the border fence, with some detonating explosive devices.

The past week has seen a number of incidents of Palestinians gathering along the Gaza border, clashing with the IDF. Israel carried out airstrikes against Hamas targets in Gaza last week in response to riots, while shutting the border crossing until further notice.

Later on Tuesday, IDF forces entered Jenin in the West Bank to arrest a number of wanted terror suspects, after which armed clashes broke out. IDF also used a drone to carry out airstrikes in Jenin.

The Palestinian health ministry said that four Palestinians were killed in the clashes.

IDF also raided the Aqabat Jabr refugee camp near Jericho in the West Bank overnight,, saying suspects hurled explosive devices at the soldiers who returned with live fire.

A 19-year-old Palestinian was reported killed by he fire. IDF arrested 12 suspects in several locations overnight, including the Aqabat Jabr refugee camp and Hebron. The army also confiscated numerous weapons and large amounts of ammunition during the raids.

238 Palestinians, 32 Israelis and two foreigners have been killed in 2023 alone according to AFP.
