British ambassador pays tribute to Israeli charity

Ambassador David Quarrey meets the Beit Issie Shapiro team in Ra'anana, applauds 'extraordinary' work

Britain’s ambassador to Israel has commended an Israeli charity with British links for its work on disabilities.

Ambassador David Quarrey and his partner Aldo Henriquez visited Beit Issie Shapiro in Ra’anana this week and later paid tribute to the charity’s “extraordinary work on disabilities including ground-breaking technology,” some of which was developed in the UK.

He also applauded the charity’s “great programme” working with Israel’s Arab community.

The charity is a centre of excellence and has benefited from British know-how in developing its “assistive technology ecosystem” with leading academics and professional bodies in the field of disabilities.
