Big Family Show & Expo: The helping hand of Norwood!

Norwood – The Big Family Show & Expo community sponsor – is on hand when you need it most!

Norwood provides specialist support to children with learning disabilities and families facing challenges

From the little people to the big people, to those in-between, Norwood is there to support you and your family, and will be at The Big Family Show & Expo standing tall and proud alongside Jewish News as community sponsor of this exciting event.

Norwood is so excited, that it has gone all out to organise a stall that every member of the family will enjoy.

From cupcakes and balloons for the little people, to a Rollapaluza bicycle challenge like no other for the big people, the charity has it covered.

So why not pop by, say ‘hi’, have a cupcake and then work it off in the charity’s heart-racing Rollapaluza competition, where participants battle it out on stationary bikes over a sprint distance at speeds in excess of 50mph.

Accompanied by music, MC and cheering crowds, you’ll hear them before you see them!

It has also organised some pretty cool prizes, such as a Garmin Edge Touring Plus (a bike-specific navigation system) and Moov Now sports and activity tracker for the person crowned Rollapaluza champion.

Occupational therapy

You might even enjoy yourself so much on the bikes that Norwood Challenges appeal to you. Its challenges are life-changing – in more ways than one. It has been bringing the Jewish community unforgettable challenges for more than 25 years and its experience is second to none.  What’s more, every penny raised helps the most vulnerable people in our community conquer challenges of their own and reach a brighter future.

Norwood’s incredible team of staff and volunteers will also be on hand throughout the day to answer any burning questions you might have,
or guide you towards the support you or your family might need. No pressure, no strings – they’ll be there.

Children and families

From the specialist educational support Norwood provides to children with learning disabilities and other barriers, the wide range of services it provides to children and families affected by breakdown, abuse or mental health problems, to its accommodation services for adults with learning disabilities and autism across London and Berkshire – it is there.

Bike riding

It does some pretty cool things, too, such as the life skills training kitchen, known as Sara’s Kitchen, which it runs out of its Kennedy Leigh Family Centre in Hendon.

This service is for adults aged over 16 with learning disabilities who have an interest in catering and would like to develop new skills, live independently and pursue a career in the subject.

In fact, Norwood is overjoyed at the fact that all of the cupcakes it’ll have at The Big Family Show & Expo will have been entirely made in that very kitchen by some of its best budding chefs.

London accommodation with Norwood

The charity isn’t ashamed to say that it loves what it does – it’s Norwood’s passion. A passion that sees it push harder, do more and improve each and every day to make sure that everyone, irrespective of their abilities or circumstances, has the right to live the most fulfilling lives they can.

Norwood strives to provide outstanding services in the most efficient and effective way possible, continually evolving to ensure we serve the needs of our community with the best facilities, the best staff, the best practices and the best of care and support that can be provided.
