Conservative Party delegates branded ‘Nazis’

Protesters yelled vile obscenities at people attending the Conservative Party Conference, branding them “Nazis” and reportedly telling one Jewish delegate wearing a kippah to “go back to Auschwitz”.

There were also reports of people being physically intimidated, pelted with eggs and spat at.

One Jewish delegate, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “There were some truly sickening scenes. I was called a “Nazi c*** and witnessed a masked person spit on the ground beside an elderly couple waiting for a taxi. Anyone smartly dressed was a target for bullying.”

An estimated 60,000 people attended an anti-austerity demonstration near the Manchester conference on Sunday.
