The Community Security Trust has almost doubled its fundraising target of £2m, in almost 36-hours.

The Together campaign, which began after Shabbat, sees every donation doubled by supporters of the charity which works to protect British Jews from antisemitism and terror. The fundraising drive will run until 9pm on Monday evening.

As of 5pm on Monday it raised £3.7m.

The initiative is backed by high-profile figures including David Baddiel, Eamon Holmes and Tracy-Ann Oberman.

CEO Mark Gardner told Jewish News: “We’ve raised £2million and it has been really terrific to see both the donations and the many messages of thanks for our work, literally coming from all over the country. Now we want to push on from our starting target and reach further.”
