Dame Imogen Cooper plays JW3 on 30 September
Schubert, Bach and Beethoven will be played by the internationally acclaimed pianist
Join JW3 for the opening concert of the next Classical Music Series on 30 September, with internationally acclaimed pianist Dame Imogen Cooper.
One of the world’s foremost interpreters of Schubert and Schumann, Dame Imogen will be playing pieces by Schubert, Bach and Beethoven. This is a rare opportunity to experience her up close in a warm and intimate atmosphere.
Dame Imogen is the daughter of musicologist Martin du Pré Cooper and artist Mary Stewart. She studied at Conserervatoire National Supérieur de Musique (CNSM) in Paris and was awarded a Premier Prix de Piano (distinction) in 1967 when she was 17.
She was awarded a CBE in the 2007 New Year Honours and Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2021 Birthday Honours for services to music. In 2019 she was awarded the Queen’s Medal for Music.
This is one for both seasoned concert goers and those who are new to classical music.
